     New Peace

New Peace is more than a jewelry brand: it is an ode to expressing individuality with intention at heart.

✺ When I create with my hands, I am home.

I'm nestled just south of the northern boreal forest, on treaty 6 land (Saskatchewan, Canada) with my partner Joseph and our beloved felines. New Peace got it's name after two of our cat's: Neo (new) and Solomon (peace).

The shop name continues to be a refreshing reminder in all aspects of life personally and creatively.

My creativity flows from my mother: a multi-faceted creative curator.

Metalsmithing came to me with ease and insistence. I'm not sure how I knew this craft was for me- I just did. I am currently focused on and feel sincerely passionate about expanding my knowledge, skills and free-flowing creativity in the art of metalsmithing and jewelry design.

Striving for sustainability.

I am deeply passionate about continuously challenging myself in areas I can consume + produce in a way that is sustainable long term. Read more below about the steps I take to put these words into action.

ethos

Sourcing Materials
Responsibly

Majority of the metals that I use are recycled by melting down old solid gold or sterling silver jewelry and fabricating it into something new, entirely by hand. Semi-precious gemstones are often sourced from smaller shops within Canada, but are occasionally purchased from smaller vendors overseas. I am always happy to break down the history of a piece for those interested.

Expanding my Knowledge

New Peace Jewelry was born in February of 2024 and I have learnt everything so far by following the guidance of fellow smiths online and of course, practicing, practicing, practicing. I am adamant to never 'finish' learning- I will always be a student of the craft.

Creativity Lead

My designs come from free flowing creativity and they always will. I am eager to see what different avenues and styles come about in my work as I continue to grow creatively and professionally.

Honesty + Accessibility

In today's economic and environmental climate, keeping fine jewelry as accessible as possible while also promoting the importance of underconsumption and avoiding 'fast fashion' is of the utmost importance. Jewelry pieces are priced fairly and intently. If you receive a piece of jewelry that does not meet your expectation, I invite you to contact me.

A quick note regarding bespoke/custom jewelry requests.

Custom requests are considered on a case-by-case basis and accepted only when they align with my artistic focus and current capacity. If a project falls outside my scope, I’m happy to recommend other skilled Canadian metalsmiths who may be a better fit. Feel free to reach out to discuss your idea.
